冥界の川の案内人は、球状のウィッグをかぶり坐した姿で描かれています。腕は現在欠落していますが、もともとは像に取り付けられていました。
中王国（およそ紀元前2035–1689 BCE）は、エジプト古代の黄金時代であり、中期第11王朝のMentalhotep IIによる国の再統一から始まります。それはエジプト文学の決定的な繁栄と古典美術の黄金時代を築き、領土の大幅な拡張と野心的なインフラ事業でも知られています。
出典: 公売、1930年代から1960年代の間に収集された元フランスのコレクションで、2026年にフランスの競売所で取得。
