聖ミカエルが立ち、玉璽と球体を持つ。銘文 M-X: M(I)X(AHΛ) の薄い痕跡が見える。デザインは点の縁取りに囲まれている。

十字架に続く六行のギリシア語銘文。周囲は点線の縁取り。

Κ(ύρι)[ε] β(οή)θ(ει) Μιχ(αήλ)
μ[α]γίστρω (καὶ) δουκὶ πάσης
Δύσεω[ς] τῷ Σαρ(ω)νίτη.

歴史的意義
マイケル・サロニテスに関連する極めて稀少なビザンチン seal で、Magistros および Doux of all the West という尊称を併せ持つ。
ダンバートン・オークスのカタログには、所有者がマイケル・サロニテスであり、後に seal に記された称号を得た Bulgaria の katepano を務めていた可能性があると記されている。また、1072年の Constantine Bodin の反乱鎮圧と同一のサロンイテスであった可能性も考慮されている。
この seal は、ビザンツ軍事・administrative history の研究にとって特に重要な DO Seals 1, no. 1.20a として学術的文献に収録されている。
