表現豊かな人面マスクを figurative に表したブロンズの興味深いピースで、浮彫の強い立体感と視覚的に力強い顔立ちが特徴です。
構図は額が浮彫の曲線で走る線を描く前面部を持ち、鼻は突出、唇は厚く、深い溝が表情を強調します。額には曲線の浮彫が走り、頭部の上部から垂直に突き出す延長部が設けられています。
特にマスクの処理が際立ち、ギリシア・ローマ世界で広まった劇場的表現のグロテスクな語彙を思わせます。こうした像は装飾美術の分野で重要な位置を占め、特に小さなブロンズ製品、装飾付けの装飾品、家具の要素として広く用いられました。
表面には濃い緑色の酸化被膜が強く残り、土質の沈着物と黄土色の色調がモデリングの体積と細部を際立たせます。
