グリップ（取手）は長い年月を経て非常に薄くなっています（材質の喪失が数ミリ程度まで）。そして鞘は極度に脆弱です。本品は明示的に極めてデリケートな考古学的コレクション品として販売されており、取り扱いには極端な慎重さが要求されます。
