Gard van Wegberg (Weert, 1921) is a versatile artist. He is best known as a painter. Gard is a craftsman who has experimented with many different styles and materials. You can see more of his work than many know. This is especially true in the Southern Netherlands and especially the city of Weert where he was born and raised. Gard van Wegberg 1945 - 1947 Academie Beeldende Kunsten Tilburg 1947 - 1950 Academie Beeldende Kunsten Roermond 1953 - 1958 Samenwerking met Jean Adams Main techniques: Stained glass windows, wall paintings, mosaics, reliefs, sculptures, ceramic portraits, oil paintings and aquarelle paintings. Collections: At the municipalities Heerlen, Hunsel, Nederweert and Gemeentemuseum in Weert and with many private individuals at home and abroad. Study trips: From 1947 to: France, Yugoslavia, Italy, Norway, Russia and Spain. Teaching: From 1967 to 1987, teacher drawing / painting to amateurs in the studio and beyond. Since the foundation "Stichting Vrije Uren" (now RICK) in Weert, in November 1969 teacher / supervisor for the courses drawing / painting and modelling until November 1987. In 2011, a book biography about his life and work was published by John van Cauteren.
