Smoker's chair, also called a smoker, low chair with a wide backrest on which one sat astride to smoke a cigar, a cigarette or a pipe, especially present in photographic workshops during the second half of the 19th century, allowing to hold the pose with a cigarette or pipe for the duration of the photo (long pose at the time). Mainly used in France, Germany and Holland, until the beginning of the 20th century.
