Elvis Presley - Elvis Presley [Debut Album] - LP Album - 1956

Elvis Presley ‎– Elvis Presley Label: RCA Italiana ‎– A12P 0031 Format: Vinyl, LP, Album, Mono Country: Italy Released: Oct 1956 Genre: Rock Style: Rock & Roll, Rockabilly ELVIS PRESLEY - Elvis Presley - 1956 - 1° Stampa Italiana - RCA A12P 0031 Elvis Presley's Italian discography is, as far as international artists are concerned, one of the most complex and numerically important. This, combined with the undoubted charm of the character and his engravings, makes Italian publications constitute a source of great headaches for collectors all over the world. ELVIS PRESLEY LP RCA Italiana A12P 0031, 9/1957 (blue label) Probably with good reason, this is considered the rarest piece of Elvis Presley's Italian discography. After a series of in-depth research, I managed to go back to its issue date: September 1957. The original issue of this LP, with a black label distributed in October 1956, is the first Elvis LP of Italian nationality. In the same period, in the USA the second Lp ELVIS (LPM-1382) was released, completely ignored by the Italian RCA, which instead of printing it here, preferred to import it during the first months of 1957. In September 1957 the Italian branch of the RCA issued, as a second exit national, AMAMI TENEROLO (in USA LOVING YOU, LPM-1515): the very first Italian press had the blue label and at the same time, usual practice until the 80s, the RCA reprinted the entire Presley Lp catalog. Then, in September 1957, ELVIS PRESLEY was re-released, released about a year before. The most obvious difference with respect to the original edition lay in the color of the label, blue instead of black. Until 2015, the year in which a copy with these characteristics was found, the existence of a reprint with a blue label had only been hypothesized. A second copy was found in 2016 - even without a cover - and then nothing, a sign of a minimal print run and in any case of really poor sales. Furthermore, the first copy found had the cover graphically the same as the original of 1956, but different paper-making features: there was no lamination and the cardboard used was clearly lighter. The same thing can be seen in the analysis of the first edition of AMAMI TENERAMENTE, also of September 1957. Evidently at that time the Italian RCA adopted a policy of saving cover production costs (a prerogative of the Roman typography Marendino). These cuts affected the quality of the covers, making them more delicate and fragile. Currently, the only known copy with a blue label and complete with an "economic" cover is the one shown here! Consequently, there is no real evaluation for this record. Shipping with tracking number and insured all over the world
