Hand-forged eel harpoon or eel catcher.
Late 19th century.
In very good condition.
When they were put in the mud in the ditch, the eel got stuck between the flukes.
A fine example of hand-forged work art of that time.
Trident with flukes.
Can be found on many old Dutch paintings and many etchings.
Completely authentic object.
There is a name riveted on it: van Genk uit Den Hout
Length is over 46 cm and the largest width is 17 cm.
