He was one of the main players in the revival of naval archaeology and its material expression, arsenal models. He is notably the author of the work in four volumes, Le vaisseau de 74 canons, treatise on naval art on naval architecture of the 18th century. His works on ancient weapons are also references for collectors.

Jean Pierre Paul Boudriot, born on 20 March 1921 in Dijon and died on 22 February 2015 in Paris was a French architect also known for his publications on ancient weapons and naval architecture.
