The factory that created the Mondia brand was established in the early part of the 20th century thanks to the initiative of Paul Vermot. He brought together his highly skilled, technical ability with a strong business sense and founded a small business for the production and sale of watches. In a short time the company had built up a good clientèle, maintained in part by the constant updating of styles and mechanical movements. The name Mondia was established in 1935 and the watches, under this new name, gained a share of the Italian market. This market share grew over time until, at the beginning of the 1970s, Mondia joined with Zenith, which became the brand that covered the more economical part of the market compared with the watches from the Le Locle watchmaker. The watchmaker still manages to stand up to the numerous other modern brands, with a unique design governed by Swiss movements, just like this stunning military model. The solid steel case has a diameter of 48 mm and has Swiss ETA 6497-1, hand-wound movement with 17 jewels. The military style dial is very beautiful and unusual, and recalls the old timepieces worn during the second world war by American and British soldiers and the Soviet air force.
