The company has gone through ups and downs throughout the twentieth century and the pens with the Columbus trademark are present on the market as a quality product at an affordable price.

Williamson was founded in 1906 in Settimo Torinese (To) as an importer of the American pens made by Williamson Pen Company and subsequently undertook production of these pens, registering the brand Williamson in 1923. It ceased operations in 1950.
Both pens could use a revision of the charging system as a result of them not being used for many years.
