Original antique Finnish knife Järvenpää horsehead
Here I am offering a horsehead knife by the company Järvenpää.
The founder of the more than 100 year-old company was awarded the title "Cutler of the Tsar" by the former Grand Duke. This is a quality judgement which Järvenpää lives up to even today when manufacturing knives.
This knife has been made completely in pure handwork. This is indicated by the elaborate ornamentation on the horse's head and spacer to the blade.
Has a hand signature on the blade
which shows that this is an original item.
The handle of the knife was made of Galalith.
Galalith (art horn, milk stone; Erinoid in the UK) is an old trade name for the casein plastic, which was invented in 1897 by Wilhelm Krische and Adolf Spitteler.
The knife comes with an elaborately decorated leather sheath with brass ornaments.
pure handicraft.
Dimensions:
23.0 cm total length
