Crater at N 21 ° 30 ' E 50 ° 28 '

Impact glasses, or even crater glasses are terrestrial rocks that melt into glass due to the released energy during large meteorite impacts. In contrast to tektites, which are jets shot out of the crater as rock vapor, impact glasses have 'only' melted. Crater glasses contain more water than tektites, and are found in the immediate vicinity of the impact site.
Wabar pearls are round to drop-shaped glasses that have been frozen in flight. They were created by the impact of the Wabar meteorite masses in the Rub al-Chali desert in southern Saudi Arabia. Here several meteorites hit a crater field in the desert sand. The released pressure wave did not reach the lower layers, so there are only impact glasses made of sand, and no breccia. The Wabar pearls are also called the “Tears of harem ladies”. The smallest glass drops that attach to the surface of Wabar pearls are typical, and give them an interesting textured surface. (!!!
