The factory traces its history to a telephone workshop founded in 1897 in St. Petersburg by a Swedish businessman and inventor, founder of Ericsson, Lars Magnus Ericsson , which was later transformed into a factory of the Russian joint-stock company L. M. Erickson and Co. There is a nameplate that reads "РУССК. АКЦ. ОБЩ. Л.М.Эриксон Петроград 1915 (L.M.Ericson Petrograd 1915)". РУССК. АКЦ. ОБЩ. is short for "Русского акционерного общества" which means "Russian joint stock company". Although it is very worn due to intensive use, all its components are in place and in good condition for its age. The headset has been repaired on the handle and fastened with wire. By the type of the wire and its highly worn nature, it is understood that the repair process was made in a very old time. It looks like the length of the handset had increased due to this repair and because of this increase, although by a very small margin, it does not fit fully into the wooden slots.
