Marine machinekamer telegraaf - Messing - Eerste helft 20e eeuw
This telegraph is illuminated. For this reason alone, it is an absolute eye-catcher for any maritime bar.
It can be operated from both sides. The viewing panel is not made of glass. It is made of transparent plastic. So it can’t be busted in stormy seas.
The best:
Making adjustments with one of the levers is accompanied by a loud ‘bing’ in each grid.
From Slow to Stop, it makes a loud: Bing Bing Bing.
This device has signs of wear and tear. The brass has not been polished, there is patina.
The discs are not fixed, they are exposed in front of the display.
From the underside, you can see the connection of the upper round area on the base.
It is fixed with screws. One screw is missing from the head.
On the upper side of the round part, a cover is screwed on. One of these screws is different from the other three.
The telegraph is mounted to a wooden base on the base. The paint is partially missing from this base.
All in all, these are little things.
The telegraph is solid, heavy and robust. A great piece.
