Hermes Baby typewriter, manufactured in 1949/1950 by E.Paillard & Co, Switzerland. Serial number 5163390
The company originally produced watches and musical mechanisms, but in 1913 Paillard opened another factory in Yverdon and decided to design and build typewriters. The Hermes Baby was in production between the late 1930s and early 1940s and, due to its small size, it became the "indispensable" typewriter for novelists, celebrities, and journalists of the time such as Ernest Hemingway.
Its features changed the typewriter design forever. This easy-to-carry machine in enamelled grey metal has red trims. Once lifted, the tape cover seems to spread wings that recall got Hermes’ wings. The typewriter has a 4-row keyboard, it retains its original metal cover. Well-kept and in excellent condition, it works perfectly.
It comes with the original flyer and store stamp.
It ships with accurate packaging and tracking code.
