Bruno Livori, an admirable example of a macchiaiolo artist, manages, with a few brushstrokes and soft colours, to describe and imprint on the canvas, moments that are apparently irrelevant and not worthy of note. Beautiful group of boats moored on either side of the Fosso Mediceo under one of the bridges in Livorno’s Venezia district, historical insight into the city’s history. A rare subject, rarely painted by Livorno painters. From my private collection. Shipped without frame.
