It is made in the 1940s by the "Bakhtiari" nomadic people of Iran. The Bakhtiari are mainly a nomadic Lur tribe from Iran. They primarily inhabit Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari and eastern Khuzestan, Lorestan, Bushehr, and Isfahan provinces. A small percentage of Bakhtiari are still nomadic pastoralists, migrating between summer and winter quarters. They are renowned for their mastery of warm and tribal rugs. The density of the rug is 6x6 knots per square cm. Such size is extremely rare to find in today's market. This is a genuine and handmade wool on cotton rug made in the 1940s.
