Tenuta Nuova was born from an innovative vineyard project planted in an area south-east of Montalcino that had never been experienced before and represents the desire to produce a Brunello with great personality: structure, finesse, quantity and quality of tannins, length, drinkability and potential of aging. The soil, the microclimate and the botanical realities typical of the Mediterranean scrub that surround the vineyards are the perfect demonstration of the exceptional nature of the Tenuta Nuova terroir.

Deep, bright red. On the nose the usual balsamic of Tenuta Nuova blends with a very pure red fruit in the making. Savory, almost salty on the palate, with the powerful tannin of the exciting 2015 which blends with the incredible depth.
vintage notes
2015 will be remembered as a practically textbook vintage. The winter was essentially mild with average temperatures and abundant rainfall in the months of January and February. Budding occurred in the second week of April. The second part of April and the entire month of May were rich in rainfall and sunny days: all this led to a regular development of the vegetative cycle, an excellent accumulation of water in the soil and a regular and prosperous flowering which took place concluded in the last days of May. June and July were dry and slightly above average warm. During the second week of August, rainfall occurred which lowered temperatures and significantly aided ripening. August and September continued with notable temperature variations between day and night which led to an almost perfect balance between acidity, tannins and sugars in the grapes.

winemaking
Manual selection of the grapes before and, after de-bunching, with an optical selector. Spontaneous fermentation follows without the use of added yeasts and maceration aided by frequent punching down. Everything takes place in truncated cone-shaped steel and wood vats at a controlled temperature for 24 days.
