The cup bowl is adorned with various ornaments: the Zug coat of arms in a laurel wreath and with various federal weapons; an arrow with a strip of parchment that commemorates Heinrich von Hünenberg and his - according to legend - warning the Confederates about the Battle of Morgarten in 1315; a noble falcon chained to one hand, which alludes to Zug's entry into the Confederation. During the federal siege, the Zug embassy went to the Königsfelden monastery to King Albrecht I of Habsburg (around 1255-05/01/1308) and asked him for help. But the embassy was received coldly by the king. According to legend, the king was more interested in his falcons than in the embassy's concerns. The base of the celebratory cup is adorned with two reliefs painted in silver oxide: one depicts Zug's entry into the Confederation and is inscribed "1352 Zug in den Bund", the other shows the dying Zug Ammann Peter Kolin (first adult 1412–30.07. 1422 "Hero's Death" Battle of Arbedo) in the Battle of Arbedo 1422, from which Hans/Johann Landtwing takes the banner, with the corresponding inscription "1422 Arbedo". Image motif (three putti, one of them holding the celebratory cup, the other two on the left and right above a coat of arms cartouche with the coats of arms of Switzerland and Zug. On the left a laurel branch and on the right an acorn branch protruding upwards. At the top above the putto with the celebratory cup there are 22 stars The inscription underneath “Lith. H. Manz in Zurich” also states the fineness of the silver and the manufacturer’s signature: “800 DS”. The 24th Federal Shooting Festival took place in Zug from July 9th to July 22nd, 1869. The festival area was located next to the old train station from the area of today's Reformed Church (Alpenstrasse, 6300 Zug) and extended towards the north. The Federal Shooting Festival was carried out by the “Schützengesellschaft der Stadt Zug” (formed in 1868 from the merger of the two shooting societies “Special Rifle Society of the City of Zug” and “General Rifle Society of the City of Zug”) and the president of the central committee was the Zug mayor Karl Josef Merz ( December 15, 1818–April 25, 1886. 1864–1865 and 1868–1869 Zug mayor).
