A collection of eight framed original plates from "A History of British Birds" by Rev. Francis Orpen Morris, London, Groombridge and Sons, voll. I and II, s.d, (approx 1880).
Technique: wood engraving. Each plate was handcoloured at the time and shows different species of birds.
Plate size: cm. 18 X 10,5 (approx 7 X 4.1 inch). Back is blank. Recent black woodden frames.
Plate colours are still bright.
Included plates:
– Lesser Spotted Woodpecker
– Tellow-Billed Cuckoo
– Spine-Tailed Swallow
– Martin
– White Wagtail
– Great-Headed Wagtail
– Red- Throated Pipit
– Tree Pipit
