Saint-Aubin 1er Cru La Chatenière Offering up aromas of crisp Anjou pear, lemon oil, toasted nuts, iodine and white flowers, the 2021 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru La Chatenière is medium to full-bodied, satiny and layered, with good tension, depth and persistence. It's another cuvée that shows very well this year. The 2021 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Les Champlots is especially good this year, delivering aromas of waxy citrus, confit orange, iodine and toasted nuts. Medium to full-bodied, satiny and incisive, it's impressively complete, with a penetrating, saline finish. The 2021 Saint-Aubin 1er Cru Hommage à Marguerite was quite tightly wound when I tasted it, unfurling in the glass with aromas of pear, citrus oil, clear honey, white flowers, toasted nuts and fresh mint. Medium-bodied, layered and rather concentrated, with racy acids and chalky grip, it will certainly benefit from further élevage.
