Campo del Cielo IJzermeteoriet - eindstuk - 552 g
Campo del Cielo is the largest meteorite ever found to date. Both in number of pieces and in weight. But that doesn't detract from its interest and beauty. It's a meteorite that was formed during the formation of the solar system itself, giving us a glimpse into a time when the world around us was just beginning.
Its story, history and characteristics are discussed in more detail in our blog article entitled Campo del Cielo.
The particular piece on offer, the so-called "end-cut", is part of a larger fragment that offers us the opportunity to view both its external structure, which is marked by the arduous passage through our atmosphere, and a beautiful internal "map" made up of an unusually high density of inclusions.
The price includes:
- 552 gram Campo del Cielo meteorite (endcut)
- handmade box made of poplar wood
- certificate of authenticity on Japanese paper with unique catalogue number and hologram (not on photos, but will be included)
