Figurine depicting the final stages of the hunt. Loyal dog bringing the trophy to his master.
The figurine is in good condition. There is a small chip underneath the wing on the tip (see pictures). Not visible from the front or top. Only saw it when taking pictures of the underbelly.
History:
Founded in 1853 in the northern Bohemian town of Duchcov (German: Dux), initially to produce utilitarian objects, the factory was bought by Eduard Eichler (1830-1887), a well-known Jewish artist, which marked the beginning of its prosperity. But it was from 1898 onwards, following his move to Berlin, that works of remarkable quality were produced1.
Around 1900, this important factory produced vases and figurines, often with female subjects, in exuberant decorations of flowers, leaves on shell bases, fountains... Porcelain was left in cookie form, gilded or painted, often in green2.
During this Art Nouveau period, the company enjoyed success thanks to modeler-decorator Alois Hampel1.
The factory is still in operation today.
