DESCRIPTION
Barros wines are a celebration of Portuguese talent. They are the expression of a talent that is ours, refined through experience and knowledge. They were born at the troubled beginning of the 20th century, in 1913, and managed to assert themselves until they were recognized as a reference by consumers. In deep respect for Portugueseness, Barros wines embrace the Tawny and Ruby families of Port Wine.

WINE VARIETIES: Tinta Barroca, Touriga Franca & Touriga Nacional.
VINIFICATION
Harvested by hand at their optimum point, the grapes are de-stemmed, crushed and vinified according to a process that is based on careful maceration with the extraction of color, tannins and aromas from the skins, complemented by permanent pumping over during fermentation. This takes place in vats, at a controlled temperature between 28-30ºC, until the desired Baumé degree is reached. At this stage, wine brandy (benefit) is added, creating a fortified wine. Wine of exceptional quality, from a single harvest, bottled between the fourth and sixth year after harvest.
TASTING NOTES
Purple ruby colored wine. Aroma of fresh fruit and red berries with light notes of mint and orange blossom. This Port wine presents itself with a firm and elegant tannin that completely envelops the palate, with flavors of fresh red fruit and spices lasting. Sweet and elegant finish.
SERVING
Excellent accompaniment to intense meats, dark chocolate or red fruit desserts and high intensity cheeses. Store in an upright position, in a cool, dry place, protected from light and temperature fluctuations. Serve at a temperature between 16ºC and 18ºC. Consume in moderation.
