Tintin T1 - Tintin au pays des soviets - Black-and-white - hc - 1st edition - (1930)

Deluxe edition of the album "Tintin au Pays des Soviets" from 1930, number 186 of 500 copies. Tintin's signature was written by Hergé, Snowy's signature ("Milou") by Germaine Kieckens, Hergé's first spouse. This is the holy grail for Tintin collectors. The album is in very good condition, but was restored. The spine is complete. Caps and corners are scuffed. The quires were rebound which has made the spine more solid. The covers are fine. Lots of foxing on the endpapers. Pieces of paper were replaced on pages 1 and 31 (as can be seen on the pictures). The first 4 pages were once coloured with coloured pencil which was later erased. In many places the paper is reinforced with adhesive tape in order to repair the tears at the bottom of the pages (as many pictures show). The tears are usually small. This extremely rare album is a must-have item! Alec Séverin is the founder of Several Pictures publishers.
