Philippine Impressionist - Oskar Ramos, the recognized master of still lifes and flower paintings Oscar Ramos Apuli was born on the 18th of December, 1948 in Manila, Philippines. After school, he studied architecture and graduated from Bicol University in the Philippines with a degree in architecture. He began as a draughtsman, later he became a painter. He carefully studied the works of international artists and Filipino masters of the time. A milestone in his career was a scholarship to Europe, sponsored by a German-Philippine art patron. The first gallery to show his paintings was the Wohlgemuth Gallery in Munich when he was in Munich in 1984, following that his paintings were exhibited at the Stadler Gallery in Munich. Today, after many years of solo and group exhibitions in the Philippines and abroad, Oscar Ramos can be called one of the living masters of Filipino Impressionism.
