Oil painting on canvas. Signed right at the bottom by Louis Van Lint. (1909 - 1986) Van Lint (1909 - 1986) studied at the Académies des Beaux-arts in Brussels in Sint-Joost-ten-Node. Later he started to paint in an expressionist style. After becoming a member of the Belgian art group La Jeune Peinture Belge in 1945, he started working in a more abstract way. Through Pierre Alechinsky he came into contact with the Cobra movement. In the early fifties he exhibited together with several Cobra artists. However, Van Lint has never been closely involved in this movement. From the mid-fifties onwards, his style developed into a colourful and warm abstractism. Louis van Lint represented his country at the Venice Biennale in 1948. In good condition with original frame. Will be sent by insured mail or can be picked up.
