A beautiful old X-Katanga cross and 2 smaller H-Handa crosses ((Ba) Luba-Currency/North Katanga-Kinshasa) that was used as a means of payment in Belgian Congo-Zaire for centuries. They were already used as currency in the 14th century until the 60s of the 20th century. They exist in several dimensions and shapes. The smallest one measures a few mm and weighs a few grams, the largest can weigh more than 10 kilograms. 3 old specimens. -21 cm x 21 cm-Late 19th century. -6 cm x 3 cm-18th to 19th century. -2 cm x 2 cm-13th to 17th century-found in graves. Other names: Croisette or Saint Andrew's Cross. Used as currency until the early 20th century. x old collection.
