Two bronze sculptures made by Mary Michelmore (born 1932), a South Australian sculptor who specializes in small animal sculptures and whose work is widely exhibited. The animals are made of solid bronze.
Each miniature is hand cast in bronze using the "lost wax" technique, finished and polished, lacquered and signed by hand.
The platypus and the echidna are both egg-laying mammals, which exist only in Australia.
The platypus has the following size:
Length 13 cm, width 7 cm and height 2.5 cm.
The echidna measures 7 cm in length, 4 cm in width and 2.5 cm in height.
Combined weight without packaging is 506 grams.
This lot will be carefully packaged and shipped by registered post via POSTNL.
