2De FRoNT - Ikea - Stol - PS SELMA

A Swedish chair with a story. 2 The FRoNT designers wanted to design something really controversial: a reading chair, which can also be read. The cushions of the IKEA PS SELMA armchair can be turned over for a different design. four different designs each tell their own story. 1. The first story comes from the oldest coat in Sweden. This is approx. 2,500 years old and tells the sinister story of an unnatural death. Judging by the thirty holes in the fabric, the owner of the coat probably came to a violent end. 2. Next, you can sit on an old, historical fabric with parts of antique fabrics depicting stories. These were made somewhere between 800 and 1100. According to legend, these images represent the end of time. 3. The following story is a cut-out of a painting by Swedish portrait painter Alexander Roslin. A master in displaying the texture of silk and velvet worn by European nobility in the eighteenth century. 4. The last cushion shows a print of a photo of SPECTRA upholstery fabric from the IKEA catalogue of 1969. An exclusive chair of the large Swedish furniture company.
