2 Dipinti: Brioschi Anton (Vienna) - Migliorati Maria Luisa (Torino) - Firmati -Originali - No Reserve Price - Olio

Lot consisting of 2 original classic paintings, signed by the artists. (Austria, Italy). A) The first work belongs to the famous Austrian artist Anton Brioschi (Vienna, 1855-1920). A mountain landscape typical of the author’s production, probably dating back to the late 19th / early 20th century. Oil on cardboard / board, sized 41 x 47 cm (with frame). In very good overall condition, signed at bottom left. Painting complete with original period frame, with clear glass to protect the painting. The first 42 pictures show the work. No documents available. Brioschi Anton: a landscape artist, graphic designer, decorator and set designer, he studied at the Vienna School of Applied Arts under Josef Ritter von Storck, Michael Rieser and Valentin Terich, and then under the theatre painter Simon Quaglio in Munich, for a year and a half. In 1883 he was a stage painter at the Hanover Court Theatre, the first stage of a brilliant career. Already in 1884 he worked alongside his father at the Vienna Court Opera, where he designed, among other things, the original iron curtain separating the audience from the stage, which was destroyed in WWII. In Vienna, Brioschi worked on the creation of the most important opera sets of the time, retaining a certain artistic autonomy until 1897, when Gustav Malher took over the direction of the Court Opera. From this moment on he began more and more frequently to work on commission for foreign clients, devoting himself with greater depth to landscape art, where a strong naturalist taste coexists with a figurative approach of Romantic influence. B) The second work was made by the well-known 20th-century Italian artist Maria Luisa Migliorati (Turin). Original and authentic painting signed by the artist, in excellent overall state of preservation. Pictures from no. 43 to no. 76 show the work. From the information we have, Migliorati was particularly active during the first half of the 20th century. As this work shows, Migliorati can skilfully merge a solid spatial system with an immediate pictorial landscape. In fact, while the view is wide as her rational perspective allows to embrace a large portion of space, at the same time the artist maintains a very fast execution technique. Her sketching is Impressionistic and outlines shapes with a few brushstrokes, guaranteeing immediacy and freshness even with a rigid compositional setting. In her production, M. L. Migliorati keeps very close to traditional landscape painting based on the drawing precision and the immediacy of Impressionism. Complete with wooden frame and protective glass, to preserve the painting. Overall size with frame: 29 x 54 cm (vertical panel). No documents available for for either painting. No reserve price. The many pictures attached (76 in total) show both paintings in detail, pointing out any details on each side, and are an integral part of the description and sale of the lot. Trackable shipping at buyer’s charge. The carrier will be chosen by the seller. The lot will be packaged in the best possible way. Please note: in view of the obvious problems of this period, the lot can only be shipped (with possible delays) while no personal pick up is available. Sale from a private collection, provided ‘as is’, with no guarantees, no responsibilities, no returns. For further information, please contact the seller (Italian, English and German spoken).
