Extremely rare early 18th century religeuse clock from Louis XIV period. Case made ebonised wood, with three gilt bronze finials.
Verge movement of good technical quality, originally most probably with repetition on demand and quarter striking, aletered - striking full and half hours now. Silk suspension pendulum. Clock comes with winding key.
Tin dial with engraved and black painted Roman numerals for hours, Arabic for minutes (each five), in lower part engraved maker's signature: P. Du Commun a Lausagne. Gilr bronze openwork and engraved hands.
Conditions report: according to the previous owner case and movement were restored about year 2005. Case in very good condition, minimal wear. Movement in working order. Clock comes with the pendulum and winding key. Crack in one leg. Small damage to the dial at VI. Sun-shaped bronze mount over dial of the later date.
