Frisisk haleklokke med dobbel hette - van der Ploeg - Wood, Oak - Første halvdel av 1800-tallet

Early Frisian double hood pendulum clock with double bell, moon position and date display (rare) Around 1840 Painted hood and dial with copper corner pieces, indication for moon, date, hours, alarm clock mechanism In oak cabinet. The double hood with broken tympany and painted panels. With two separate bells for whole and half hour. With two brass weights. This type is also called the Groningen tail clock. Clockwork runs nice and regular. Date and moon position indication work. The clock does need to hang level. The striking mechanism needs to be checked (sometimes runs off, or does not strike) and the clock needs to be reset. The clock is signed on the inside of the hood and signed on the back of the dial by Van der Ploeg (see photos).
