Jean Gauthier - Ezan EJG - Art Deco fransk 1930 glans med opaliserende fugler (1)

Charming Art Deco period chandelier, metal frame with a bronze patina and its 7 moulded pressed opalescent glass bowls topped by a decoration of three birds of paradise, also opalescent. Height: approx. 92 cm, diameter of a bowl: 22 cm, height of the birds: 20 cm. One of the most beautiful items of the famous Ezan house, each bowl is signed Ezan France and numbered. Glassworks in good condition without breaking or chips, really perfect, frame with very beautiful patina. Electricity checked, very good wiring, works perfectly with 9 bayonet lamps (included). Offers a very beautiful warm light. For a safe delivery, the chandelier will be partially dismantled (glassware, arms and birds) in order to avoid damage during transport, easy to put back together. The pictures are part of the description. Carefully packaged, registered shipping with tracking and insurance. Ezan was the large glass factory of Mr. Jean Gauthier (EJG) in the town of Ezanville, north of Paris. In the 1930s, he was famous for his glassware in opalescent semi-crystal such as those on the Charles Ranc or Henri Petitot chandeliers. Jean Gauthier's workshop was at 12-14 rue Jean Robert in Paris, then the factories expanded in the town of Ezanville. Just after WWI, Gauthier made cameos that were sometimes signed Gauthier. The Ezanville factories were opened for the production of Art Deco glassware in pressed moulded glass. Many Art Deco models are not signed. Some are signed EJG for Etablissements Jean Gauthier. Others are signed J. Robert, pseudonym of J. Gauthier, based on the street name of the first workshop. In the 1930s, Gauthier launched a line of semi-crystal opalescent shades, mainly bowls. Some models are not signed. Others are signed EZAN France, signature for Gauthier based on the city of the second factory.
