Jacques Pouchain (1925-2015), sun face (30 × 26 cm). Exceptional ceramics by the emblematic artist of Dieulefit. Very thick chamotte sandstone (1950-1960), decorated with cobalt oxide on a white background, representing a sun face. We find in this stylised face the influence of Picasso. The piece acquired from the artist is in a remarkable preserved condition and of original purity (no defects). The monogrammed signature, handwritten and referenced in the workshop, is in itself a decorative element. J. Pouchain quality artworks are the object of an undeniable craze. You will find at the end of the photo album the reference of a sale at the SVV DE BAEQUE in Lyon on 7/11/2020, auction nr.15 of a similar model but much less beautiful. ;-)
