This is an original German WW2 M42 helmet. With liner and chin strap. All original. The difference with te M40 and M35 model is the edge of te helmet. Earlier models have a rolled edge. In 1942 metal became scars in Germany. The 1942 manufacturing proces saved metal. Decals were eliminated to speed up production and improve combat visibility. Inside is a code stamped NS 62. NS means that this helmet is produced at the "vereinigte Deutsche Nickelwerke Schwerte" 62 is the size. There is an other code stamped inside the back of this helmet: D223. This is a production number. Overall, a helmet in good condition. An asset to any collection.
