Amazing violin by the violin maker Josef Antonin Cermak from Czechoslovakia.The violin was produced in 1926 and purchased in 1981 in Prague.
On the violin’s interior, there is a plaque stating “Josef Antonin Cermak, Houslar, Kutna Hora, 1926". The violin is in an antique case and two, very high quality bows made of wood and horsehair are also included. The bows are not marked.
Josef Antonin Cermak was a very notable and influential violin creator in the Czech school. He created professional violins in the style of Amati, Stainer, Stradivari and Guarneri. A hallmark of his violins is their golden-yellow and red finish (as here).

Height (body only) : approx. 35 cm
Width (widest point): approx. 22 cm
Width (narrowest point): approx. 14 cm
Depth: approx. 4 cm
Condition (violin): The violin is in overall good condition with signs of age and wear. On the surface there are light scratches and some slight discolouration of the wood.
Condition (bows): One bow is in perfect condition, the other has two loose hairs.
