Very large, beautiful fossilized tusks of the woolly mammoth. This tusk, in contrast to the tusks that are usually offered, originate from the Siberian plains in Russia. This specimen was found in Kemerovo (Kuzbass in western Siberia, where mammoth remains are found which have been preserved in the permafrost for thousands of years. This fossil is very solid and intact. It's professionally stabilized and lightly polished. Some small cracks are expertly closed so that the tusk is as good as perfect. The tooth has impressive colors and a curvature that runs laterally and outside. The woolly mammoth was about 2.7 meters high. It had a large bulge with fat stores just behind the curved head and thick layers of fat that served as insulation. The thick coat consisted of long, black hair, which was a layer of finer hair also for insulation purposes. The species at Tundra plant, to which the molars were perfectly adjusted. With its tusks it could dig out the plants from under the snow and the ice. The woolly mammoth went extinct at the end of the Pleistocene, about 10,000 years ago. This fossil is shipped registered and insured.
