Stunning original Lithograph after Matisse produced in conjunction with the iconic paper cuts that were the last project by Matisse before his death in 1954. Commissioned by the Publishers Teriade, the Lithographs were printed between 1954 -1958. A small number of the images were printed before his death and were signed in the stone, but most were printed posthumously and were thus unsigned. Matisse oversaw the printing of the images by the famous Merlot Freres and personally chose every colour. Centre fold as issued. Size 52cm x 35cm The image is in excellent condition, but there are light creases to the corners which are well away from the image and easily lost with framing.
