This is a Sendai tansu crafted to replicate the chest of drawers from the Edo period. It's made of solid keyaki (zelkova) wood and dates back to around the Showa era (Showa 20‐50 ). The brass fittings, particularly the drum-shaped nails, exude a splendid atmosphere. It consists of three tiers of small drawers. The top tier features drawers with an included key for locking. The key operates smoothly without any issues. The bottom tier has hinged doors, opening to reveal two storage compartments. The doors and hinges function smoothly without any problems. Both the interior and exterior are in excellent condition. Regarding its appearance, while there is some rust on the fittings, overall, the condition is excellent with no significant wear or damage. Although there are minor scratches and slight warping on the keyaki wood, it remains in good condition. Small tansu in such good condition are hard to come by. It will undoubtedly shine in your home.
