Two volumes, first edition. Each is bound in a deep red buckram. This has blind stamped decoration as well as a gilt design to the front boards and gilt decoration and design to the spine. The front board device would appear to be a portrait in gilt of each of the two women (one on each volume). The covers have some wear / staining to the boards, and the spines are darkened. Library number to the base of the spine. Hand colored, tissue guarded lithographed frontis to each of the two volumes. 18 additional tinted lithographs throughout the two volumes; all tissue guarded. Ex-library books, with expected stamps / labels, and security to front. The front end paper to volume one is detached but present.
