Provenance: Private collection, William E. Hughes, San Antonio, Texas, United States of America. In its ownership since before 1944. - By inheritance to his son John C-Hughes. Mr. William E. Hughes amassed this impressive collection of Mexican stone and jade artifacts in the early 20th century. Many of the artifacts come from archaeological explorations in areas such as a tomb at Monte Albán, the Sacred Well of Chichén Itzá and the outskirts of Mexico City. In 1944, Hughes lent his collection of more than 200 objects to the New Trier Township High School Museum in Winnetka, Illinois. The artifacts would remain on display until 1973, when they were returned to the family. - We will provide a copy of the old provenance documents - Notes: - The piece includes authenticity certificate. - The piece includes Spanish Export License (Passport for European Union) - If the piece is destined outside the European Union a substitution of the export permit should be requested, can take between 1-2 weeks maximum. - The seller guarantees that he acquired this piece according to all national and international laws related to the ownership of cultural property.
