This is an excellent aesthetic specimen of schellite from the now classic Chinese finds. The mine where these specimens are found is situated on the east edge of the Tibetan Plateau, and it is often attributed to being on the slopes of Mt. Xuebaoding proper when in fact it is actually about 5,3 km SE of it on the slopes of a smaller but still very high mountain, Mt. Little Xuebaoding. Regardless of that, the mine is definitely in a preatty inaccesible spot around 4000m over sea level on incredibly steep terrain being only run during late spring and summer, with pockets in general being quite rare and facet grade beryl being the main target mineral for the mining operations.
This specimen features a plate of silvery mica blades with a 3D appearance that probably formed due to having grown around a previous mineral generation, on which up to 3cm transparent to trnaslucent yellow orange scheelite crystals are aesthetically set. These scheelite octahedrons like some other material I purchased, have a very different look to them in comparison to the usual pieces from the local as they appear quite etched rather than showing the typical sharp flat faces, giving them a unique, rounded, and jelly-like look.
damage wise the piece is in preaty Good condition there is some light bruising on the mica but nothing major.
