The Forty Travel Series Macallan, is a limited edition distillery whisky from The Macallan, located in the Speyside region of Scotland. This whisky is part of the Travel Series and is a spirit that recreates the brand's style during the 1940s. At a time when there was a shortage of sherry oak casks, the distillery had to fill them more often. This, along with the use of peat, resulted in less pungent and less smoky whiskies than today's whiskies.
