A very nicely carved 18th/19th century mother of pearl snuffbottle with a depiction of Magu 麻姑 carrying a flower basket . The stopper made of red stone encased in Dutch gold mounting with golden chain. This is probably done in the 19th century to convert it to a perfume bottle. A small inlaid red stone seal mark on the reverse could indicate the once was a poem inscribed on the backside. Provenance: From a private Dutch collection.
