The kettle has a bronze lid with a nice patina and with chrysanthemum shaped decoration under the knob and is resting on the furo 風炉 (portable stove to boil water for tea), a brazier standing on three feet. The teapot has been tested to see if it leaks, but there is no leakage. The frontal opening of the stove is in the shape of a melon "mokko" and the rear of a buddhist flame.
