BRG Radio Company was founded in 1931 by Bernard G. "Ben" Rosenwald. Originally known as the BRG Precision Products Company, it initially manufactured precision measuring instruments. In the 1940s, BRG began producing electronic components for military use during World War II.
After the war, BRG shifted its focus to consumer electronics, particularly radio receivers. The company became known for its high-quality and innovative radio designs. BRG radios gained popularity throughout the 1950s and 1960s.
In the 1970s, BRG diversified its product line to include other consumer electronics such as televisions and stereo systems. The company continued to innovate and expand its offerings throughout the latter half of the 20th century.
However, with the rise of digital technology and changes in consumer preferences, BRG faced increasing competition in the electronics market. In the late 1990s, the company struggled financially and eventually filed for bankruptcy in 2001.
Despite its challenges, BRG's legacy as a pioneering radio manufacturer and its contributions to the electronics industry remain notable.
