Oldtidens Kina, Han dynastiet polykrom terrakotta. Stående kriger. TL testet. - 50 cm

The art of the Han dynasty (206 BC – 220 AD) of ancient China is characterized by a new desire to depict everyday life. The arts were boosted both by political stability with its attendant economic prosperity and by the development and successful combination of brushes, ink and paper. Figure of a standing warrior in polychrome terracotta, made to be placed in a tomb. He stands at attention - probably once with a spear and a shield in the openings of his hands -, dressed in a tunic with armor painted on the chest. Wear this tunic over a long skirt and boots. Crowned by a neat bun under a pointed cap, the soldier presents a severe face with thin eyebrows, thin eyes, a wide nose above a mustache and closed lips. It is decorated with cold-applied slips in various colors, mainly white and black for clothing, brown, pink for meat, black and red. The Han Dynasty ruled China from 206 BC. and 220 AD, more than four centuries during which the political, social and economic structures of China were consolidated, which will take the country to the most glorious stage in its history. As for the art of this moment, it continues to be eminently funerary, although it reflects the very high artistic level that will be achieved both in the capitals and in the provinces. These preserved objects give us an insight into daily life and customs of the time, as the art becomes much more mundane than the bronzes of the Zhou and Shang periods. The structures of the tombs are also modified: the Shang were vertical, while the Han were built as underground palaces. They were decorated with reliefs printed with scenes from the life of the deceased, and a new material was incorporated as an artistic support, lacquer. However, the most famous today is the production of Han ceramics, in terracotta and decorated with cold-applied slips, mainly black and red. Conservation status: Good, earthy deposits. HEIGHT 50.00 cm. Thermoluminescence certificate attached. The piece includes a certificate of authenticity. The piece includes a Spanish Export License. IMPORTANT: This lot requires an Export Permit.
