Pablo Picasso (after) - Le picador contraint le taureau avec sa pique

Author: Pablo Picasso (1881-1973) Title: Le picador contraint le taureau avec sa pique. Size: 50x 70 cm Copyright: Museu Picasso - Barcelona - VEGAP - Hostench. Nº 345 P. Picasso. Printed in Spain. Fine art offset print made on thick 220g, high-quality on laid, highly texturised paper. Displays a vivid and sharp image quality. Exceptional print. New to frame. Shipping in a rigid tube via certified express mail. It is possible to collect more than one object, from same auction, in the same shipment. When in 1926 the publisher Gustau Gili proposed to him to illustrate a classic of Spanish literature, Picasso counterattacked by proposing to print La Tauromaquia o Arte de torear, by José Delgado, known as Pepe Illo. A treatise on bullfighting written in 1796 by the bullfighter that Goya immortalized in the last engraving of his series La Tauromaquia. The result was 26 sugar aquatints, a technique not very common but which gives movement to the ink and a special texture to the piece, and a bibliophile edition of La Tauromaquia de Pepe Illo of 263 copies. The artist from Malaga drew all the plates in a only day
